Hyperspectral Remote Sensing + Digital Photogrammetry

Multi-sensor data acquisition is routine on HyVista airborne surveys .

Dual data capture from HyMap (hyperspectral) and HyCam (digital camera) sensors.

Acquisition of high resolution orthophotos and DEMs simultaneously with hyperspectral imagery is extremely cost effective.

One flight, Two sensors, Three products.

Airborne Remote Sensing

See the world in a different light

HyVista Corporation is an airborne imagery data service provider who specialise in the supply of airborne hyperspectral remote sensing data, large format digital aerial imagery and value added information products.

Servicing industries with remote sensing data with applications ranging from mineral exploration and earth resource mapping, environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, urban city mapping and many research development projects such as simulating future hyperspectral satellites, defense surveillance, soil degredation and species habitat mapping.

HyVista Corporation’s mission is to bring an end to end service to customers requiring airborne hyperspectral imagery from data collection to processing and data product delivery and consultation.

Global Operations Servicing Industries Worldwide

HyVista Corporation offers airborne remote sensing solutions specialising in the supply of airborne hyperspectral data, large format digital imagery and value added information products.

Mineral Exploration

Enhance exploration programs with cost effective, precise and accurate mineral mapping from HyMap hyperspectral data. Superior results in alteration mapping and vectoring to mineralisation reduces project time and costs in the field.

Mining Operations

HyMap hyperspectral data has been effectively used in mining projects to map mineralogy of ore-waste stockpiles and open-pits to assist with grade control and geometallurgy. Mapping mineralogy of benches and pit walls aids mine stability design, and mapping potential and active acid rock drainage (ARD) and mine site rehabilitation for environmental reporting.

Agriculture & Environment

HyMap hyperspectral data can reveal details of vegetation, soil and other physical features and chemical properties through their spectral signatures. These HyMap datasets are ideally suited in applications in precision agriculture and farmland management, habitat and species mapping, weed mapping, yield estimation and vegetation disease management.

Space & Defence

HyMap hypespectral data can be utilised for defence surveillance and intelligence, UXO and object detection and national security. Applications in research and development of future remote sensing satellites and data cal/val are also possible.

HyMap™

Airborne Hyperspectral Scanner

HyVista Corporation operates the HyMap™ hyperspectral scanner manufactured by Integrated Spectronics (Intspec Systems).

The HyMap provides 128 bands across the reflective solar wavelength region of 0.45 – 2.5 um with contiguous spectral coverage (except in the atmospheric water vapour bands) with an average bandwidth of 15nm.

The sensor operates in a 3-axis gyro stabilised platform to minimise image distortion due to aircraft motion. The system can be rapidly adapted into any aircraft with a standard aerial camera port and is transported between international survey sites by air freight.

The HyMap provides a signal to noise ratio (>500:1) and image quality that is setting the industry standard. Laboratory calibration and operational system monitoring ensures the calibrated imagery required for demanding spectral mapping tasks.

A precision GPS/IMU is tightly integrated into the image acquisition system permitting accurate geocoding of the hyperspectral image.

The spatial configuration of the HyMap sensor is shown below.

  • IFOV – 2.5 mr along track, 2.0 mr across track
  • FOV – 61.3 degrees (850 pixels)
  • GIFOV – 2 – 10 m (typical operational range)

The HyMap is spectrally and radiometrically calibrated using NIST traceable sources and a “sensor in the loop” technique pioneered by HyVista Corporation. Calibration is maintained during flight operations to high accuracy aided by sensor design and assisted by an on-board stabilised light reference lamp.

HyMap is a commercial sensor recommended for use by NASA Earth Science researchers because of its overall high performance characteristics.

HyMap produces “Analysis Ready” imagery that is defect free and of low noise allowing quick post-flight processing direct to “at-sensor” radiance and then to “apparent reflectance”.
